  • Licensed or Certified Professional/Counselor

    This is a contract hybrid role for a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Milwaukee, WI, with a mix of in-person and remote responsibilities. The counselor will provide mental health support through one-on-one counseling sessions, facilitate group therapy, create customized wellness plans for clients and engage in community-building activities. Additional responsibilities include maintaining client records in adherence to ethical and legal guidelines and collaborating with other team members to develop and implement programming that aligns with the organization's mission.

    Qualifications

    • Licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Wisconsin or eligibility for licensure

    • Strong skills in counseling, therapy techniques, and emotional support

    • Experience facilitating individual and group sessions

    • Ability to develop client-centered wellness plans and strategies

    • Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills

    • Experience with documentation and maintaining accurate client records

    • Knowledge of equity-focused approaches to care and an understanding of health disparities

    • Previous experience working with Black women or marginalized communities preferred

    • Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field

    Preferred

    • Experience in community-based or nonprofit settings.

    • Specialized training in perinatal mental health, adolescent development, or group therapy.

    • Familiarity with mindfulness and holistic wellness approaches.

    Compensation

    This position is compensated through a monthly stipend based on credentials, experience and facilitation responsibilities.

    Schedule

    • Approximately 5–10 hours per month.

    • Includes monthly facilitation, preparation, documentation, and occasional meetings.
